Dear Mr. and Mrs. Vertuccio,

I hope you and your family are well. I am writing to ask if you would allow us to use the

money you raise for our center to fund The Steven J. Vertuccio Wellness Program for adults with CF. Dr. Uluer and members of the Physical Therapy team are developing a program to improve and encourage exercise in CF patients when they get admitted to the hospital and also as outpatients. We believe this would be an exciting and appropriate use for the money you generously donate to our center.

The exercise program will feature equipment produced by SCIFIT, a company specializing in scientific solutions for patient fitness. The program will also use an additional Program called Fit-Key, which allows clinicians to download and review data collected from patients as they exercise. This will allow the physical therapist to show

patients the progress they are making and allow for improved continuity of care during an individual's subsequent admissions. The data will be stored on an electronic

"key" for review by health care professionals. When the key is inserted in to a machine,

The program resumes that individual's preferred settings. Each person would be assigned a key to be stored in a secure location and protected as with any other medical record.

During the initial phase the exercise program will be designed specifically for patients admitted for an exacerbation, while the second phase will focus on outpatients with an emphasis on changing patient attitudes toward exercise.
